  • Ashlee Andrews, DVM

    Dr. Ashlee Andrews was born and raised here in Albuquerque. She attended the University of New Mexico for her undergraduate studies and was a member of the Lobo track and cross-country teams.

  • Christa Bernhard, DVM, MS, DACVECC, RRT

    Dr. Christa Bernhard grew up in Ohio and attended Xavier University where she received a BS in biology. She graduated from Colorado State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree

  • Kendra D. Freeman, DVM, MS, Diplomate AVCS-LA, SA

    Kendra Freeman is a New Mexico native and a 2009 graduate of Colorado State University. Following veterinary school, Dr. Freeman completed two internships in large animal surgery and critical care in the mid-Atlantic region.

  • Nicole Chamney, DVM, MBA, MSOM, BScN

    Dr. Nicole Chamney is a 2014 combined DVM & MBA graduate of Colorado State University, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She has also completed two internships with a concentration in Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Medicine.

  • Jolene Sun, DVM

    Dr. Sun grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She attended high school in Florida, where she was an athlete year round. Her sports included swimming & diving, cross country, weightlifting, track & field, and wrestling where she secured a women’s state championship title in both her junior and senior years.

  • Amanda Rouse, DVM

    On her path to becoming a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Rouse graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in biology focused on pre-veterinary studies. She then went on to complete veterinary school at University of California Davis.

  • Alice Sloan, DVM

    Dr. Alice Sloan grew up in eastern Pennsylvania and got her B.S. in biology at Warren Wilson College in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Asheville, NC. During this time, she studied abroad in Cairns, Australia, studying the foraging behavior of the platypus.

  • Steven Butt, DVM

    Dr. Butt is originally from Newfoundland, which he continues to call his home today. He graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2014 with a Bachelor of Commerce in accounting.

  • Sonja Sims, DVM

    Dr. Sonja Sims is a native of the beautiful high deserts of New Mexico and currently resides in the sleepy village of Los Ranchos. Her early career led her to the West Coast to attend the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco with a short stay in Lake Tahoe.

  • Olivia Holguin, DVM

    Dr. Olivia Holguin was born and raised on the island of Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. She took the non-traditional path towards veterinary medicine by trying out different careers.

  • Katrina Ray, DVM

    Dr. Katrina Ray graduated from veterinary school in 2008 from Colorado State University. She worked for almost 13 years in general mixed animal practice in Roswell, NM. After a brief stint doing relief work in Las Cruces, NM and urgent care in Rio Rancho, she has settled at Roadrunner Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital

  • Megan Pierce, RVT, Hospital Manager

    Megan serves as the practice manager at Roadrunner. After a brief period as lead tech at a general practice, Megan's desire to return to specialty medicine led her into practice management at Roadrunner, where she has been since 2022.

  • Krissie Kissinger, Co-Manager

    Krissie is an accomplished co-manager with a passion for customer service and teamwork. Krissie has an extensive background in customer service- both in human medicine and veterinary medicine.

  • Lauran Hare, Lead Emergency Technician

    Lauran is one of our lead technicians and has worked in veterinary medicine since 2010. Having worked in different general practices and various specialties, she found that emergency medicine is her passion and has been with Roadrunner since its infancy.

  • Valeria Luna, Lead Emergency Technician

    Valeria was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, where her lifelong love for animals began, and led her to the field of veterinary medicine. She has a passion for learning and expands her knowledge through each individual she works with.

  • Vaughn Herrera, Lead Surgery Technician

    Vaughn was born in Pennsylvania and raised in Rio Rancho, NM. He started his 14+ year career in veterinary medicine in Ruidoso, NM. He enjoys assisting in orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, with a specific interest in advanced diagnostic imaging.
